Professional Statement

  • Get unstuck! People sometimes come to therapy confused about exactly what is wrong -- they just know that they feel entrenched and unable to budge from their current "stuck" place. Therapy can help you understand and tackle symptoms and problematic patterns so that you can get back on track to a more fulfilling life. For those starting with a specific problem already in mind, I have experience with both symptom-focused (aka CBT) treatments for problems like OCD and panic attacks, as wells as treatments focused on challenging chronic patterns behind problems like depression, low self-esteem, procrastination, dysfunctional relationships, disordered eating, and addictions.
  • My approach integrates behavioral strategies to help build more flexible coping, as well as other techniques that help you recognize and challenge problematic patterns connected with your symptoms. I also integrate mindfulness techniques when appropriate to enhance your ability to manage difficult feelings and experiences. The end goal of therapy is to help you uncover your own expert, intuitive knowledge of yourself while improving your ability to cope with whatever life throws at you.
  • While I'm not "in-network" with any plans, I can generally accept most forms of out-of-network coverage. I usually submit claims for my patients to facilitate the reimbursement process.
  • Please note that most people who begin therapy commit to a once weekly session at the same time each week. My calendar at zocdoc reflects most of the times I have available on a regular basis. Once you have scheduled your initial session, I will contact you for a brief (free) phone consult to make sure that I am a good fit for your needs.
