While traveling the world after completing her undergraduate degree, Priya developed her passion for food - both learning about it and eating it! Ultimately, this sparked an interest in harvesting a deeper understanding about the triggers and rationales behind the various choices people make involving food. In 2006, Priya graduated from New York University with a Masters of Science in Clinical Nutrition, along with becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Priya spent over seven years working at Beth Israel Medical Center as a clinical nutritionist counseling hundreds of patients in one-on-one sessions and designing the curriculum for a weekly group nutrition seminar that she facilitated.
Priya is committed to creating a wellness plan that is realistic and allows her clients to truly meet their goals.
In 2013, Priya, along with her coworker and fellow dietitian decided to expand their reach and establish a private practice, Tried and True Nutrition, Inc. The practice focuses on individuals, groups and corporate wellness thru one-on-one counseling, group seminars and in office cooking and nutrition demos.
Priya, a mother of two young children, lives in NYC and tries to juggle all that life throws at her. Her pregnancies and child rearing sparked a larger interest in pre and post natal nutrition, as well as, pediatric nutrition. When Priya gets some free time, she enjoys reading, spinning, yoga, Crossfit training and finding new restaurants to try.
