  • Dr. Schwartz has over 40 years of experience in private practice with people of all ages. This has led him to flexibility in adapting treatment to meet the needs of the individual rather than trying to fit the individual to a "treatment".
  • Dr. Schwartz's goal is to provide help to people who are struggling with problems and/or symptoms that they have not been able to master and want the help of a professional. He employs psycho-dynamic/psychoanalytic concepts to the individual treatment of patients in a neutral, nonjudgmental, therapeutic setting with the intention of resolving conflicts that interfere with their everyday lives and functioning.
  • Dr. Schwartz's training and clinical experience has been with the psychodynamic and psychoanalytic treatment of adults, adolescents and children. When necessary, he prescribes psychotropic medication for the alleviation of severe symptoms of anxiety, depression and insomnia. He also works with eating disorders, weight loss management and attention deficit disorder. Dr. Schwartz's have both psychiatric and psychoanalytic training and is certified by the Board on Professional Standards of the American Psychoanalytic Association. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of psychiatry at the NYU Medical Center where he teaches and supervises and is a Training and Supervising analyst at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Education an Affiliate of the NYU Medical Center.
